StrobeOhio Meetup

We had our inaugural meeting today and came up with a game plan.  First and Third Sunday's of each month from 2-4 pm when meeting at Gallery 202.  Weeks that we shoot on location times may vary depending on the event.  Each meeting will have a theme and and assignment and occasionally a DIY project.  For those not in the Westerville area or cannot participate in person, you can join in on the assignments and DIY projects and post your images to the StrobeOhio group on Flickr.

Next meeting is Sunday, March 20th at 2pm.  The Theme for this meeting is Compare.  We'll compare results of Studio Strobes and small flashes in various modifiers to get a feel for what a small flash can do in a large softbox etc.  We may have a volunteer to be our model for our comparison portion.  If anyone has a son or daughter or friend who needs some portraits,  add a comment.

The DIY project is to make your own Snoot.  Whether it's a Pringle's can or a rolled up newspaper, whatever works.  One hint:  a black interior directs light better, a white interior scatters the light.  We'll shoot with our snoots during the meeting.

Assignment:  Spotlight.  Put the words Spotlight Assignment in your Caption so we can sort.

Hope to see some good posts and new faces at the next meeting.
